Overview
This site is a personal blog run by Folarin Akinloye. It is built to read articles, so it collects as little information as possible. This page explains what is collected and how it is used.
Information collected
You do not need an account to read anything here. The site does not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to browse. If you choose to email me, I receive whatever you put in that message and use it only to reply.
Analytics
The site uses Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which articles are read and how visitors find them. This relies on cookies and collects anonymous usage data such as page views, approximate location, and device type. It is not used to identify you personally.
Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. This site uses them only for the analytics described above. It also uses your browser local storage to remember a few preferences, including that you have seen the cookie notice, your light or dark theme choice, and which articles you have reacted to. None of this leaves your device except the anonymous analytics data.
Third party services
A few trusted services help run the site: Google Analytics for usage statistics, Hygraph for storing article content, and Vercel for hosting. Each has its own privacy policy.
Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using their browser add on. The site will keep working if you do.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated from time to time, and the date above will change when it does. If you have any questions, reach out at me@folarin.dev.
